From the port the trip will start sailing along the Rio Negro from where we can see the Rio Negro Bridge as we head towards the floating platform for viewing the pink dolphins, where we can swim with these docile animals and watch them being fed by a riverside man legalized by Ibama. The trip continues towards the phenomenon Meeting of the Waters, a place where the Rio Negro and Solimões meet without their waters mixing, an experience that delights everyone. Afterwards, we will visit the Catalão houseboat community for contemplation and fishing for Pirarucu (Arapaima Gigas), the giant of freshwater, native to the Amazon. Soon after, we will go down the river passing by the edge of the city towards the Janauary Ecological Park for our visit to the indigenous community, which as guests of honor we are invited to participate in a ritual of presentation accompanied by great joy. In the afternoon, stop for lunch at a floating restaurant located in the park, the self-service buffet has a special menu based on fish, meat or chicken, salads, fruits and side dishes. After resting, we make the trail to visit the water lilies and the flooded forest.
Return to Manaus.
DOLPHINS: The dolphins are sensitive animals and for the safety of visitors and the welfare of the animals, some precautions are necessary: not using sunscreen, creams/body oil and repellent, and not intentionally touching the dolphins.
● Do not intentionally touch the porpoises; do not scream; Do Not Feed;
● Do not use sunscreen, repellent, cream or body oil. When in contact with certain products the porpoises have their eyes and sense of smell attacked.
WILDLIFE: do not encourage tourism that mistreats animals. Do not allow this illegal activity in the Amazon, Wild animal Place is in the forest, free!
The use of wild animals in tourist activities is a crime provided for in Article 29 of Law No. 9,605/98.
SUGGESTION: Bring exchanged money in case of craft shopping, sunscreen and light clothes.
Important information: During the low-water period (September to December), depending on the level of the rivers, the itinerary will undergo changes, which makes access to the Janauary Ecological Park impossible, the visit to the water lily pads is temporarily suspended as well as the flooded forest.
At this time there is a phenomenon in the Rivers called Piracema (migratory movement of fish) that influences the behavior of the porpoises, causing them to follow the shoals that are passing by. For this reason they may not appear as usual, there is a possibility that the interaction will not occur, a fact that we will only be able to conclude on site on the day of the tour. To deal with these natural phenomena characteristic of this time of year, we need to be in a constant process of adaptation because for us their experience is our main focus.
